Based on the poem by renowned Puerto Rican poet Julia de Burgos. Known for writing about the struggles of the oppressed, her homeland (or patria) and her own very intimate, intense feelings. Here we imagine her as a roller skater using her skates as her pen while writing “I was my own route.
